Light a Fire

Since I write all the lyrics there has to be a page of those. I'll add them a little at a time.

Light a Fire

©Michael D. Franano, 2021

I saw her standing there

Eyes that could light a fire

Something about that woman

I know I could take her higher

She doesn’t know me

Some day she will

Working from my memory

Looking  to find that thrill

Keep those matches dry

Keep her in the light

Later than you think it is

Take her from the night

Eyes that could light a fire

She’ll look up at me

Featured in my looking glass

I’ll take her soul for free

I saw her standing there

Eyes that could light a fire

Something about that woman

I know I could take her higher

Worlds apart but worlds collide

Wash together with the tide

Rules don’t apply to her

There’s no place she can hide

What I find I get to keep

What I sow I get to reap

I’ll let her use my looking glass

Everything else I get to keep

Eyes that could light a fire

She’ll look up at me

Featured in my looking glass

I’ll take her soul for free

Ghost In My Room

©Michael D. Franano, 2021

I’m not afraid

I hear your voice at night

Never your footsteps

But that’s alright

I remember the simple times

Just me and you

Hot august nights

Nothing else to do

We didn’t have much money

No fortune or fame

We didn’t care

All about the flame

I see you in my dreams

It won’t be too soon

Take up where we left it

The ghost in my room

I’m not afraid

I hear your voice at night

Never your footsteps

But that’s alright

Your always welcome

Never to blame

Take me or leave me

Don’t blow out my flame

Now you’ll be timeless

Like you wanted to

Live in my memory

Just me and you

I see you in my dreams

It won’t be too soon

Take up where we left it

The ghost in my room

Youll always be

The ghost in my room

I’m not afraid

I hear your voice at night

Never your footsteps

But that’s alright

I remember the simple times

Just me and you

Hot august nights

Nothing else to do

I see you in my dreams

It won’t be too soon

Take up where we left it

The ghost in my room

Face Your Fear

©Michael D. Franano, 2019

Isn’t there a time and place

Take your foot from the rat race

Nothings right when your running scared

Face your fear as if no one cares

Wisdom seeks the bottom line

Yours is yours, mine is mine

Look in the mirror, look and see

Life is yours wild and free

Use your strength, its hidden deep

It’s not a flood, just a seep

Rise from the floor like you wanted too

Show them all the stone in you

A flash of light is all it takes

See right through the wall of fakes

Chasing love that isn’t real

There’s a place to rest and heal

Rise from the ashes

Rise from the dust

Burn all the bridges

Shake off the rust

Isn’t there a time and place

Take your foot from the rat race

Nothings right when your running scared

Face your fear as if no one cares

Stand up tall, look em in the eye

Your still here and you know why

Stronger than you thought you were

Better than the liars blur

Rise from the ashes

Rise from the dust

Burn all the bridges

Shake off the rust

Isn’t there a time and place

Take your foot from the rat race

Nothings right when your running scared

Face your fear as if no one cares

                                               The Lion’s Breath

                                                                       ©Michael D. Franano, 2019

I thought I heard it
But I didn’t look
I wish I had

Now I’m on the hook

That’s how he come’s in
when your mind isn’t clear
It won’t be painless

The last thing you’ll hear

Came in quiet

Now I’m cheating death
You know it’s too late
When you feel the lions breath

Aint so pretty

I’m not so bold

Wasn’t smart enough

To come in from the cold

When I turned around

Face to Face

No where to run

I’m seeing my fate

Did my life flash by?

Was there a blink of an eye?

A scream with no sound

At least I didn’t cry

I thought I heard it
But I didn’t look
I wish I had

Now I’m on the hook

Thought about running

But I aint that fast

I aint no rabbit

My life won’t last

Came in quiet

Now I’m cheating death
You know it’s too late
When you feel the lions breath

Stones throw from heaven

But who really knew

Facing the music

Nothing else to do

I thought I heard it
But I didn’t look
I wish I had

Now I’m on the hook

That’s how he come’s in
when your mind isn’t clear
It won’t be painless

The last thing you’ll hear

Came in quiet

Now I’m cheating death
You know it’s too late
When you feel the lions breath
